-Muharram: named like that because fighting is forbidden during it
-Safar: because Arabs homes were got empty when they go to fight or search for food
-Rabee' Al Awal: because it comes in spring time
-Rabee' Al 'Aakher: because it comes in spring time
-Jumada Al 'Oula: because it comes in winter time where water get frozen
-Jumada Al 'Aakhera: because it comes in winter time where water get frozen
-Rajab: because Arabs used to greaten it giving up fighting
-Sha'ban: because Arabs used to spread to fight
-Ramadan: because the weather was so hot at that time
-Shawal: because of the lack of milk from camels
-Thul Qi'dah: because Arabs stopped fighting
-Thul Hijja: because Arabs knew pilgrimage in it.
