Are there any male names meaning "melancholy", "sad", or "Unsuccessful"?

I'm writing a story, and I am looking for a name that is at least somehow related to fruitlessness, a lack of success, or general discontent. On all of the different sites I have checked, they only have names with positive meanings; not what I am looking for.

If there are male names with these connotations, I would be very appreciative to hear them. Also, this character is born in the 1920s, so any names that would fit in that time period would also be greatly appreciated. Are there any male names meaning "melancholy", "sad", or "Unsuccessful"?
The name Tristan means sad in French and impulsive in English. Hope that helps. (And that name's been used in the Middle Ages until now.)
The only names I can think of:

Tristan: from the French root "triste" meaning sad (probably originally from Latin)

Mort: from the French "mort" meaning dead (probably also originally from Latin)

Ulysses: means to hate

Donovan: meaning dark oneAre there any male names meaning "melancholy", "sad", or "Unsuccessful"?
