I tend to find names which have a beautiful meaning pretty, even though they may not be the best of names. For example, the name 'Siri' - it's an Indian name which means 'prosperity' or 'wealth'. I find that very pretty. Also 'Anoohya' which means something unexpected but pleasant. Are there names like that which you like because of their meaning? What are they?Do you find some names pretty because of their meaning?
Oh yes I lvoe names due to their meanings. Its hard for me because I want Japanese names mostly. But I am Irish and African American and nobody in my family pronounces them right lol.
I Love these ones.
Kazuya-Harmony
Kana-beautiful
Yuuto -Superior
Saika-Colorful
Aiko-Little Loved One
Abayomi-Bringer of Happiness

My sons middle name is Tendai-which means thankful for.It was also my brothers named who died 2 months before me giving birht. So it meant a lot more!
Not really, because I know that nobody else will know the meaning, so the name, not the meaning has to be good. For example you don't go up to someone and say: 'My name is Jenny, it means white wave'.
I like the meaning of one of my favourite names though - Molly. The meaning is 'Sea of Bitterness'. I think it sounds so dramatic and beautifully tragic!
But it always makes me laugh when someone tells you what the name means, because essentially, who makes up these meanings? You could make up anything! For example we all know of some recently made up names, and I bet in a few years there will be websites offering made-up meanings for them too... it's all a bit pointless.Do you find some names pretty because of their meaning?
