I need a girl name meaning nature for a story I'm writing. I've tried baby name sites, but they don't work.
The character is a preteen female, small, petite, has dark curly hair with green/gray eyes, pale skinned. She's really smart and energetic, but sorta shy and quiet. Her last name is Goodman and she is the daughter of a priest and nurse, Adam and Mary Goodman.|||Flora
violet
Lilah
I think Lilah is the best one for your character|||Idonea or Idony. The other names that I find are Hebrew or Sanskrit - not the best for the daughter of a priest. These names are Norse and mean to renew nature.
You might also start checking other languages. Just go to an online translation dictionary. For example:
Swahili - Asili
Since her parents are a priest and nurse, either of them could have worked in another country and become attached to the language/culture.|||Raine
It's sweet and Feminine. When you say it, it sounds Quiet but has power behind it. I don't know why but it just suits you character description. It reminds you of rain of course, rain is Quiet when it hits the ground but falls energetically.
Raine Goodman i like it, Hope this helps and good luck with the story|||Here are some nature names:
