What is the mythological meaning & name of Saturn's symbol?

The Seal of Saturn is a magical symbol representing the Intelligence of the planet Saturn.

I was wondering what everyone thought of the name Amaryllis. I looked it up and babynamesworld said it was a Greek name meaning "Sparkling". Whch one of these names sounds like the most vicious dog?

I just got an all black German Shepherd and not that I want him to be mean, I'm just looking for a mean name. I'm stuck between:

Gauge, Jagger, Delano (Meaning "of the night"), Fate and Cuda (As in Barracuda)|||None of the names listed strike me as particularly menacing, but as ever the person who has to be happy with the name is the owner who will use it to train %26amp; use it in everyday life.

I prefer Caius, Nero or Damon.|||I like Jagger. German Shepherds can be real sweethearts when they're raised right but they do have intimidating reputations. I've never seen an all black one but I bet he is scary looking! Please raise your dog to be kind and gentle and let his appearance be your security. I'd suggest you take him for professional "personal protection training" (not guard dog or attack training) so he'll know when to be friendly and when to take action. We had a GS that was as gentle as a lamb, but when people pulled into our driveway they'd ask if it was safe to get out of the car!|||I like gauge... Not sure if by Jagger you meant J盲ger, the German liquor, but that would be an awesome name too :) I've always wanted a great Dane named J盲ger!

Ps, maybe you should rethink Delano. I live near a city called Delano and it's not a nice place. It's a dirty little town near Bakersfield, Ca. If you live in Ca people might think you named him after the town lol!|||I've always adored the name Gauge, I've wanted to get a black and white American Pit Bull Terrier and name it Gauge.

Does the meaning of a name change your opinion of it?

For instance, one of my favourite boy names means 'Brave Advice' and 'God Has Given', which is fine.

However, one of the girl names means 'Torture' and 'Stone of the Flank' which isn't so good.

Would you be upset if you found out you had been named something like Cameron, which means 'Crooked Nose' or is it irrelevant?|||I used to think Delores sounded okay, as I like names that are a bit old-fashioned. Does hello have a litteral meaning from another language?

I know that English names have meanings from other languages even though i don't know which languages. Like how my name (Emily) i found somewhere that my name means eager. but found in other places that it can mean industrious in german and french and i think a couple of other languages. So is the a meaning from another language for the English word hello?|||Currently, the meaning of hello is pretty much the same everywhere with slight difference in writing, such as alo in French, hallo in Dutch/German, Hola in Spanish.

But ... two actual female Japanese names are:

久子 Hisako - means something like "child of a long time -%26gt; eternity"

and

永子 Eiko - means something like "eternal child"/"child of eternity"

I searched on the Japanese Wikipedia and found pages about people with those names, in order to verify their existence. ^_^

子 "ko" is a common suffix for female names meaning "child" (which is why I tried those names). So uh, I at least know that these names sound fairly ordinary in Japanese; not very special. ^_^; I don't know how pretty they are to the average Japanese person, though.

What is the true meaning of these arabic names?

Could anyone who has good knowledge of arabic or ( is preferably fluent in Arabic); tell me what these names mean? I looked on the web but there is a lot of conflicting information ..alsoif you could rate them from most to least liked...thank you!

You would have to know the spelling in Arabic. Arabic words and names are spelled many different ways in English, just because we are trying to use English letters to show the pronunciation of the Arabic word. We spell some Arabic names incorrectly in English the same way that in Arabic Pepsi is spelled bebsi because they do not have a 'p' in the Arabic alphabet.

They are a couple for a novel I'm writing. It's a modern fantasy for Young Adults. I'd like the names to be meaningful, unique, but not too outlandish. I'm writing a story and struggling to find a suitable name for a male character. A key point of the story is this character's eyes resembling glass, so I want a name that has either a bright, clear, colorless sort of meaning or one with broken glass qualities (sharp, fragile, etc), or at least just eyes/sight in general.

Why do some girls have guys names and vice versa?

There are epicene names, better known as gender-neutral names meaning specific names can be given to either a boy or a girl although there are some gender-neutral names more common for girls and some more common for boys. Some of these names I think are weird for the other gender If it's most commonly used with a different gender. "Dylan" is a unisex name more common for boys, and for some people it's a "weird" name for a girl.

I think parents should use care and sympathy when naming their kids. But if a person is fine with it, who cares what gender of the other 80% of people with their name are? And it depends on where you are from. some of the traditional "gender neutral" names I think sound like male-only or female-only. need an explanation. thanks|||This comes down to the very basics of chemistry. It means that there are four oxygen atoms, and that the whole ion has a net charge of -2. Specifically, each of two oxygens of the ion has an extra lone pair of electrons which, in a neutral situation, would be shared with another atom. If the compound was neutral there would be no charge on it. However, in this specific case, to be neutral you would need to add two positve charges (to balance out the 2 negative charges). An example would be to use two sodium cations (2Na+) and you would then get the neutral salt Na2CrO4. Notice now that it is neutral, there is no accompanying superscripted number.

So basically, everytime you see a superscripted number after the formula, you know that it is an ion; a CATION has a positive charge and an ANION has a negative charge. Anytime you see a subscripted number, this is an indication of the number of atoms. As an example consider sulfuric acid (H2SO4), we can see that there are 2 hydrogens, 1 sulfur, and 4 oxygens.
