I cannot find the meaning or the ancestry of my last name for the life of me?

My last name is Jonquet, do you think you could find something on the name for me? I've looked at numerous sites where the claim to be able to tell you your last names meaning and some of your ancestry, but none of them have my name!It's ridiculous.|||The name is French and has quite a history. Some of the family trees go back to the 16th century. How far back have you gotten in your own research? Since the name is so old, the meaning could be lost in time. Don't forget that you have many more lines to research than just your father's side.





Jonquet looks like a place name. Maybe someone in the travel or language section can help with the meaning.

Jonque means junk, jonc means rush and que means that. Other than that i couldn't find anything on your name.
